Chika Nwankwo was born and raised in Houston, TX in 1990 and has been influenced by creativity since childhood. She started gaining graphic designing experience in 2009. Nwankwo interned with Tietronix Software throughout the fall of 2016, and graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in December 2016, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, in addition to the Associate of Applied Science in Visual Communication in December 2012. She aspired to become a successful artist and a designer.

 

Chika Nwankwo began by competing in art competitions such as Rodeo Art, Coco-Cola Art of Harmony, San Jacinto College Art shows, Pearland Recreation Art Exhibit, Houston Bay Area Juried Exhibition, Communication and Digital Media Association (CDMA) Art Show, Vanitas Art Show-Downtown Houston, 2016 Fall Graduates BFA Exhibition and ARTS Social Mixer. She attended ongoing art shows with Exclusive Events Art Agency and Pancakes and Booze Art Show. In addition, Nwankwo ran Epic Artz and Networking Facebook group as an opportunity for other professionals to market their products and services.

 

​Nwankwo’s career goal was to enter into the graphic design, illustration design, or 3D modeling field as a full-time employee with one of the largest companies. In the meantime, she built her experience in doing freelance work and worked at a couple of contract-based positions in her field. As a freelancer, she created custom designs for several clients and companies to accommodate their requests. However, there was a turnaround: since 2017, Nwankwo officially moved forward with growing her creative art business/brand as her final career choice of being self-employed along with being an independent contractor. She copyright her logo in 2020 and got her LLC in 2023. In late 2024, Nwankwo made Unique Designer Art, LLC the official name of her art business/brand.

 

As of today, Nwankwo is pursuing her art business/brand providing graphic designing, logo designing, fine art, digital art, and other creative art services nationwide. She mostly accepts project requests through Thumbtack, even though, she offers alternative options as well. She is dedicated to advancing her career and never giving up! Nwankwo also owns a couple of art stores selling apparel designs, art prints, coffee mugs, and other merchandise with her original artwork printed on them which are part of her art business/brand. She enjoys showing her personality through creativity which helps her to focus on her efforts.
